A man has been accused of scamming £15,000 from a 90-year-old Milnathort woman by carrying out unnecessary home repairs.
Luis Filipe Ferreira Degouvea, 50, Francis Street, Lochgelly, denied the charge when he appeared at Perth Sheriff Court.
He is accused of, between December 2014 and January 2015, pretending that he would carry out repairs, installations, painting and decorating works at the Balfour Crescent house.
The charge read Degouvea claimed that the cost of the work would be £50 per day with reasonable costs for materials.
However, the work was said to be unnecessary, grossly exaggerated or completed to a substandard quality.
Sheriff Fiona Tait set a further intermediate diet for next week.
