A woman who bit a fellow T in the Park reveller on the finger, leading to permanent disfigurement, will have to pay her victim £960 in compensation.
Stacey Mellor, 24, of Elgin Drive, Glenrothes, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Mellor was due for sentencing having been convicted of assault after trial.
It was proved she bit a woman on her finger at the music festival at Strathallan Estate on July 11 last year and at the time was warned she could face a prison sentence.
Solicitor Robert More, defending, said his client had “little recollection, if any, of the incident”.
He said: “My client drank excessive amounts of alcohol and understands the court must listen to the jury’s verdict on this incident.”
He added: “My client has expressed regret concerning what happened and has taken cognisance of the matter by stopping drinking alcohol.”
Sentencing Mellor, Sheriff Fiona Tait said: “Make no mistake, matters such as this can attract a custodial sentence.
“However, I take into account you are employed and are the sole carer for your child.”
Mellor was also ordered to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work.
