A 25-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Glenrothes man Ian Goodall.
Lewis Thomson, 25, of Annandale Gardens, Glenrothes, made no plea or declaration when he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on a petition alleging murder.
Bail was refused and he is expected to make a further court appearance at a later date.
The hearing comes after emergency services found 54-year-old Mr Goodall dead in his home in Minto Crescent at around 9.40am on Saturday morning.
Detectives have appealed for information from anyone who may have seen Mr Goodall in the area or anyone leaving his home between midnight and 9.40am on Saturday.
Detective Inspector Stuart Wilson added: “Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital in helping us to form a wider picture of the events leading up to Ian’s death.”
Patrols in and around the Minto Crescent area have been stepped up to provide the public with some reassurance.
