A teenager begged a court to lift his curfew – so he could attend T in the Park.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was ordered to remain at home between the hours of 7pm and 7am while he awaits trial for an alleged assault matter.
However yesterday at Perth Sheriff Court he made an application to have the conditions temporarily lifted so that he could attend the music festival.
His solicitor Pauline Cullerton said the teen’s ticket had been brought prior to his arrest.
She said: “He’s asking for a relaxation of the curfew for July 9 and 10.
“He had a ticket bought for him prior to the incident and is due to attend T in the Park with his auntie, disabled cousin and other family members.
“He’s attended T in the Park for the last three years and there has been no difficulties.
“He has always attended with an adult and will do so again this year.
“I would ask that the curfew be relaxed so he can attend.”
The remainder of the case was heard in private before Sheriff Fiona Tait, who ultimately refused the application.
The teenager has previously appeared in private accused of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement on June 4 in Perth.
He will stand trial at a later date.
