Welfare activist Tony Cox has vowed to appeal his community payback order, after being sentenced at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Tony Cox has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within six months after being found guilty of shouting and swearing at the Maximus disability assessment centre.
Cox, who volunteers for the Scottish Unemployed Workers Network, was accompanying a benefits claimant to the centre at the time.
He said he was extremely disappointed with the verdict and called the ruling a “political attack”.
He said: “I am furious with the verdict, being made to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within 6 months is a clear attack on my ability to carry out my work helping people through the Scottish Unemployed Workers Network.”
