A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a dad at his Dundee home.
Lee Small was allegedly punched repeatedly before being stabbed in the neck in the Douglas area of the city on September 8.
Mr Small, 40, was found near his home on Ballindean Terrace but died after suffering serious injuries.
On Friday, 27-year-old Michael King appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of murdering Mr Small.
He was remanded in custody after making no plea in connection with the allegation.
Prosecutors allege King “acted with another” in attacking Mr Small.
It is alleged King, of Ballindean Road, assaulted Mr Small at his home address by repeatedly punching him on the head and body.
King is then alleged to have stabbed Mr Small in the neck with a “sharp, bladed instrument” which is meantime unknown to prosecutors and murdered him.
A separate allegation states that King assaulted DC Graeme McKenna on Mossgiel Place by attempting to headbutt him.
Solicitor Mike Short made no motion for bail on King’s behalf during the brief hearing on petition.
He was remanded in custody by Sheriff John Rafferty who continued the case for further examination.
King is expected to make a second court appearance next week.
Local people paid tribute to Mr Small after his death as the area was sealed off for police to investigate.
