Edward Lafferty is accused of being in breach of the conditions by entering the Curryummy shop on Strathmartine Road. Prosecutors allege that the 59-year-old committed the offence just nine days after being released on bail from Dundee Sheriff Court. Lafferty – nicknamed “Fast Eddie” – is accused of entering the premises on March 14. Thereafter, it is alleged that Lafferty made a racially abusive remark towards an employee within the store. Lafferty, of Kinghorne Place, appeared from custody in connection with the two charges on summary complaint. A plea of not guilty was tendered on his behalf by defence solicitor Jim Caird. Sheriff George Way scheduled a trial and intermediate diet to take place in April. Lafferty was remanded in custody meantime. This article originally appeared on the Evening Telegraph website.
