A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a five-month-old baby girl.
Hayley Davidson was admitted to hospital after police attended a property in Buckhaven, Fife, last Sunday.
She died at Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children on Wednesday afternoon.
Gordon McKay was charged with murder and assault to severe injury when he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on petition on Monday, the Crown Office confirmed.
He made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination.
The 36-year-old, from Buckhaven, was remanded in custody and is expected to appear again within a week.
