A creep is at risk of being jailed after he shared a video on Snapchat of a woman performing a sex act on him.
Jason O’Neil filmed the woman while they were staying together at a hotel in Dundee in 2019.
O’Neil and the woman engaged in consensual sex but she ended all contact with the 27-year-old after her friends and family became aware of the video being shared on social media.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, reports were ordered on O’Neil, who was placed on the Sex Offenders Register, before sentencing in October.
Filmed woman and posted video
It was revealed how O’Neil and the woman became involved in a casual relationship in April 2019 after meeting through mutual friends.
Five months later, the woman booked a room at the Invercarse Hotel to spend the night with O’Neil.
Fiscal depute Stewart Duncan said: “She had five to six drinks and felt tipsy.
“At some point, the complainer and the accused engaged in a sexual act.
“She saw that at one stage, the accused was on his phone.
“That lasted for around a minute before he put the phone down.”
The following morning, the woman was still at the hotel with O’Neil when she received a message from the accused’s ex-partner.
She made the woman aware of a video that she had been sent from O’Neil and posted on his Snapchat profile.
Denied seedy sex crime
Mr Duncan added: “The complainer asked the accused why he had sent the video out but he denied doing so.
“She checked out with the accused and left.
“She found out from friends and family that the video had been viewed by a number of others.
“She then blocked the accused on social media.”
Repeat offender O’Neil, originally of Middlehills, Coupar Angus but now a prisoner of HMP Perth, pled guilty to disclosing a video that appeared to show his partner in an intimate situation by uploading the video to Snapchat for a number of contacts to view between November 13 and 14, 2019.
Sheriff Grant McCulloch deferred sentence on O’Neil until October for reports to be prepared.
O’Neil will be sentenced at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
