A Cupar man has admitted dropping his trousers in a Co-op and slapping his rear in front of customers and staff.
Mark King, of Tarvit Mill Caravan Site, admitted acting in a manner “likely to cause fear or alarm” at the Co-op supermarket on Woodside Road in Glenrothes.
“High on drugs” King also made homophobic remarks to an employee, which left her in tears.
King, 37, visited the Fife store on January 28 in a state of heavy intoxication.
He entered at around 5.30pm and immediately drew the attention of staff.
One employee decided to “keep an eye on him” as he was “acting erratically.”
King approached the employee a couple of times to ask about items in the shop but quickly became hostile, grabbing a trolley from her.
He told the employee: “You can take your f***ing trolley, I’m high on drugs.”
King was asked to leave but responded by calling the woman a “dirty d*ke lesbian.”
She left the shop floor in tears and continued to watch King on CCTV.
From the back of the shop, she could see King on camera pull down his trousers, expose his underwear and begin slapping his backside in front of customers and staff.
When he was arrested, King told police “I’m sorry for my actions” and added he wanted to see the CCTV.
He pled guilty to shouting, swearing, uttering homophobic remarks and pulling down his clothing.
King is currently serving a custodial sentence and will not be released before January 2023.
He appeared by video link at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist fined King £470.
