Teen who touched three schoolgirls at Kirriemuir park banned from contact with children

All three girls were attacked at The Den in Kirriemuir.

A teenager has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register after sexually assaulting three children at a Kirriemuir park.

Robert McIntosh, 19, targeted three girls at The Den in the Angus town.

Appearing in court, McIntosh apologised to all three girls, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Between the middle of August and beginning of October in 2018, he admitted sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl on multiple occasions.

On various dates, he repeatedly touched her breasts and bottom over her clothing.

McIntosh, of Kiriemuir‘s Knowehead, also subjected a second girl to repeated attacks, starting at the end of his campaign against his first victim.

Throughout October that year, he repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl in the same manner as the first.

She too was just 12 years old when his campaign of abuse began.

In January 2019, McIntosh picked on a third girl at the Tannage Brae park.

Between February 22 and March 1 of that year, he touched the 14-year-old over her clothing.

Psychiatric report

McIntosh appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court to be sentenced after pleading guilty to all three attacks.

A forensic psychiatric report into McIntosh had previously been ordered and was available for Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown.

His defence solicitor explained McIntosh had been diagnosed with mild autism.

“There’s been no further offending,” he said.

“He has no previous convictions.

“He apologises for any harm or distress he caused the victims.”

Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown placed McIntosh under supervision for a year and on the Sex Offenders Register for the same period.

McIntosh was ordered to take part in the Tay Project and prohibited from having any contact with children aged 16 or under without permission from his supervisor.

He must also declare any intimate relationships he has with the supervising officer.
