A Dundee child molester and rapist who began committing a catalogue of sex crimes when he was a 12-year-old boy has been jailed.
Stuart Ross started by molesting a five-year-old girl, before going on to rape women in the city.
Ross raped one woman after seizing her by the legs and dragging her along the floor into a bedroom at a house.
The 58-year-old, of Weaver’s Yard, Dundee, had denied a string of charges during a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh but was convicted of four offences of indecent conduct and five of rape.
The crimes took place between May in 1975 and April in 1989 and were committed at different addresses in Dundee.
Raped 13-year-old
After touching the little girl Ross went on to carry out sex acts on the child and subjected her to a rape ordeal when she was aged 13.
The court heard she had fallen asleep but woke to find Ross on top of her, having sex with her.
She said “no” and froze during the assault.
Ross went on to repeatedly rape an adult woman, who was subjected to two attacks when she also asleep.
The woman was later approached by police to give a statement after allegations against Ross began to emerge.

Advocate Leanne Cross told jurors: “The Crown case is that Stuart Ross carried out a single course of criminal conduct starting at the young age of 12 and continuing into adulthood.”
Ross did not give evidence in his own defence during the trial.
He was on bail during the trial but was remanded in custody following the verdicts by the judge Lord Sandison.
Sentence was deferred on him until next month for the preparation of a background report.
He was placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
