Siobhan Russell, Ballantrae Terrace, appeared for a second hearing on petition alleging murder at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday. She made no plea and no declaration and was fully committed for trial. Russell is alleged to have stabbed Marie Low with a knife and murdered her at Ballantrae Terrace on Sunday September 4. An appeal for bail was turned down and Sheriff Alastair Brown remanded her in custody for psychiatric assessment. A fundraiser set up in Marie’s memory, to cover the costs of her funeral, achieved its target this week. More than £1,000 has now been raised in just under a week by generous locals. Natalie Maclean, a family member who organised the fundraiser, said: “We’ve managed to reach the target in under a week which is absolutely amazing. “Thanks to every single person who has donated to this. We’re absolutely overwhelmed with all the support. “A lot of people say Dundee is a horrible place, but it’s not. “This is what happens when everyone comes together. This will help a lot.”
