A pervert caught with almost 200 child abuse images and videos tried to blame the offence on his brother.
Ryan Drummond claimed he had previously deleted an image from his laptop but had not shopped his sibling to the police.
However, he has now admitted he was responsible for the obscene cache of footage.
Many of the films showed youngsters being shown abuse material and were stored in a folder marked “reactions”.
Fiscal depute Alistair McDermid told Dunfermline Sheriff Court officers raided Drummond’s home.
He said: “In October 2020 police received intelligence that a device attributed to the locus was downloading indecent images of children.
“At 5.40pm on October 30, a search warrant was executed at the address.
“The accused wasn’t present but the accused’s partner provided police with the location of all electronic devices, along with the passwords.
“The accused’s laptop was recovered from the arm of the couch.
“A preliminary examination showed the laptop contained indecent images of children.”
Blamed brother for abuse images
Mr McDermid said Drummond, 36, was arrested several days later.
He continued: “He said he believed his brother had downloaded the images.
“He indicated he had previously deleted an image that his brother had downloaded but did not inform police.”
Mr McDermid said the laptop contained two hard drives, which contained a total of 44 images and 152 videos.
Two of the videos were inaccessible to the user but of the remaining 150, there were 89 that fell into category A – the most serious kind.
There were five accessible images and 61 accessible videos at categories B and C.
The remaining 39 images were category B but were inaccessible to the user.
The children in the vile content were aged between three and 14.
Drummond, of Drum road, Kelty, admitted taking or making indecent photos of children between June 16, 2020 and October 30, 2020.
Sentence was deferred for reports and Drummond will appear again next month.
