A 45-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of Kirkcaldy father James Beveridge.
William Paterson, whose address was given only as Methil, made no plea or declaration when he appeared at the town’s sheriff court on Monday.
His appearance follows the death of Mr Beveridge in Farne Court, in Kirkcaldy’s Templehall area, on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, police maintain a high presence in the area, with a community liaison team remaining situated in the small cul-de-sac, while officers continued door-to-door enquiries.
A date for Mr Paterson’s next appearance is still pending.
