A Perth pensioner has appeared at the city’s sheriff court on a petition alleging he violently assaulted and sexually abused children in the 1950s and 60s.
William Dakers stood in the dock before Sheriff Gillian Wade to confirm his name but otherwise made no plea or declaration.
The 81-year-old is accused of eight historical charges related to children who were under 16 at the time, said to have taken place between March 1957 and April 1967.
Dakers, of Strathtay Road, faces three charges of rape and two of sexual assault, together with three charges of assault to injury.
His case was continued for further examination and he was released on bail.
