A woman who pelted a Fife man’s house with eggs in a five-hour siege has been fined.
Leah Fleming, also known as Leah Simpson, attacked the address in Lochgelly’s Paul Street with a friend.
In addition to throwing the eggs, the pair took a shovel from a nearby work site and used it to damage the door of the property.
The friend, Darian Osborne, had formerly appeared as a co-accused but pled guilty to some charges at an earlier hearing.
Following a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, Fleming was found guilty of wilfully damaging a door at the address by striking it with a shovel and to conducting herself in a disorderly manner by shouting, swearing and throwing eggs on April 4 2020.
The 22-year-old was found not guilty of possessing an offensive weapon.
Fleming, of School Street, Cowdenbeath, appeared in the dock for sentencing and the court heard she is pregnant.
Defence lawyer Pete Robertson said the victim in the case, Ryan Geddes, was an ex-partner.
Sheriff David Hall fined Fleming £400 and told her: “Your behaviour on the day in question was simply not acceptable and it was behaviour that lasted several hours.
“Taking all factors into account.
“You do appear to be making progress with your life and clearly have an impending birth to look forward to.
“I will draw a line under this matter.”
‘Trays of eggs’
During last month’s trial, Fleming blamed her pal for carrying out the attack, claiming she was trying to stop her.
She also claimed Mr Geddes had started the egg-throwing.
Mr Geddes told the court Fleming had thrown eggs at his Fife house for five hours.
His former neighbour, Kareen Conway, also told the court she called police after she and her daughter saw Fleming and her friend attack the house.
She said the pair came back from the shops with “trays of eggs” and “started throwing them at windows”.
