A motorist jailed for a dangerous police chase in a central Fife village has been handed a further driving ban.
Jordan Rattray, 28, was caught driving while disqualified almost a year to the day after the chase that put him behind bars.
Officers stopped him driving a car registered and insured under a female name.
Checks later revealed he was disqualified from driving and had no insurance.
Solicitor Alan Davy, defending, said Rattray acknowledged in reports he should not have driven.
At Kirkcaldy sheriff Court he admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance on Glenrothes’ Cluny Place on January 4 this year.
Sheriff David Hall handed him a further 30 month driving ban and ordered that he take part in the Road Traffic Group Programme.
He also placed him on an 18 month supervision order and ordered him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
Rattray was jailed in February after admitting driving at excessive speed on Lumphinnans Road and overtaking a road user in the opposite carriageway, driving into oncoming traffic and taking evasive action to avoid crashing on January 21 last year.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court was told he panicked after spotting following police because he had not passed his driving test.
Sheriff Wyllie Robertson told Rattray it was a “serious offence” and sentenced him to six months in prison and disqualified him from driving for 18 months.
Rattray will also be required to resit an extended driving test following his driving ban.

Prison welcomed
Police have welcomed the imprisonment of an “extremely violent and dangerous” Fife man for domestic abuse offences.
Jody Venters, 41, had originally been charged with attempted murder but pled guilty to a lesser charge at the High Court in Stirling.
Venters admitted assaulting a woman with a knife, causing severe injury and permanent disfigurement, as a property in East Wemyss.
He further pled guilty to defeating the ends of justice and was jailed for total of six years and two months.
Detective Constable Iain Robertson, from the Fife Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “It is clear that Venters is an extremely violent and dangerous man, who will justly face the consequences of his actions.”
He praised the survivor of Venters’ actions and urged other domestic abuse victims to come forward.
“I hope this sentencing provides some measure of closure and goes some way to giving other victims of domestic abuse the courage to speak out.
“Domestic abuse has no place in our society and any reports made to Police Scotland will be robustly investigated.
“If you are experiencing abuse, we want you to know that you are not alone.
“Please contact police or seek support and advice from one of our partner agencies, such as Women’s Aid. Together, we can support you through those next steps.”

‘Malicious tip-off’
A disqualified driver was arrested within seconds of moving from a driveway due to “malicious” tip-off he was drink driving.
Brandon Sneddon had an argument with his girlfriend and tried to drive off in her car.
Police were nearby as a result of an anonymous call and swooped to stop the vehicle.
Sneddon passed a roadside breath test but a subsequent check found he was disqualified and had no insurance.
Solicitor David Bell, defending, said Sneddon had been banned for 15 months in November 2020.
He said: “This was his girlfriend’s car.
“They had an argument and he believes she called the police maliciously and told them he had been drinking.
“It was a foolish incident and I don’t think he got very far before he was stopped by police.”
Sneddon, of Stewart Court, Methil, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance at the town’s Memorial Road, on May 12 last year.
He was ordered to carry out 70 hours of unpaid work and banned from the roads for 10 months.
