A Tayside businessman continues to deny allegations he bullied pensioners into buying mobile homes they did not want.
Caravan park owner Cresswell Welch is alleged to have conned one elderly victim out of almost £80,000.
The 59-year-old is accused of lying about the age of second-hand mobile homes he was selling and the annual cost of fees on the site.
Welch, of Seaton View, Arbroath, denies all charges.
He appeared before Sheriff Paul Brown at Perth Sheriff Court.
Fiscal depute Joanne Ritchie asked for the trial to be delayed because of other pressing court business.
The sheriff adjourned the case into the sitting beginning on Monday, July 18.
Post-game prang
Perthshire rugby Shaun Barton crashed his car after a drunken night-out in Perth with teammates. When he missed his bus, he attempted to drive back home to Comrie in his Vauxhall Astra. The 24-year-old was more than twice the legal alcohol limit.
Stalker
A 56-year-old man has admitted stalking a woman in Fife.
Paul Salt, of Main Street West in Hillend, near Dalgety Bay, pled guilty to engaging in a course of conduct which caused his victim fear or alarm.
He repeatedly sent the woman letters requesting she contact him and threatened to attend her place of work unless she did so.
Salt also asked her to accept a Facebook friend request in order to monitor her social media activity.
The offending happened in November 2020 at an address in Inverkeithing and elsewhere.
Sheriff David Hall adjourned sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court until August 17.
Hash blast
A Dunfermline man who blew up his flat while trying to make cannabis oil was spared jail. Anthony Alari was experimenting with honey butane oil when caused a major explosion that rocked the town’s Dewar Street last summer. He was given 300 hours unpaid work as a direct alternative to imprisonment.
Lurker
A would-be thief faces jail after he was caught lurking outside four properties in Scone.
Teenager James Docherty appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitted being at houses in the village “with the intention to commit theft.”
The court heard he was in the curtilage of three homes at David Douglas Avenue on July 25, last year.
On the same date, he attempted to break in to a property in Hutchison Drive, repeatedly kicking at the front door to get inside.
The 18-year-old, of Jean Armour Avenue, Edinburgh, also admitted breaching a bail condition by being out of his home on July 25.
Sheriff Derek Reekie was told Docherty is due to be sentenced for “similar” offences at Edinburgh Sheriff Court next month.
Sentence was deferred for background reports until August 8.
