A Perth woman endangered members of the public when she lobbed a frying pan out of a third floor window.
Rayna Haldane lost her temper after a long-simmering row with neighbours at her South Street home.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that after being told to quiet down by other tenants, the 45-year-old hurled her eight-inch kitchen pan through a closed window onto the street below.
She pled guilty to a charge of culpable and reckless conduct.
Haldane admitted throwing the pan on July 16 last year, putting people outside at risk.
‘I did it out of anger’
Fiscal depute Sarah Wilkinson said: “The incident occurred amongst a backdrop of ongoing issues between neighbours at the location.
“It would appear that because of these issues, most of the windows at this block are currently broken or boarded up to prevent them from being smashed.”
She said: “At about 10pm, witnesses were within their flats when the accused emerged from the common close.
“She appeared to be making a lot of noise.
“Witnesses requested that she quiet down but this was taken badly by the accused.
“She was observed to throw a metal pan towards the window, causing it to smash.
“It broke the window and a large amount of glass was observed on the pavement around the pan, which was eight inches in diameter.”
Haldane told police: “It was me. I did it out of anger. It was reckless.”
Assaulted GP
Sheriff Andrew Berry told Haldane: “It’s clear from a very helpful social work report that you had a time when things were good and there was a long period without offending.
“It would be good if you can get back to the position you were in, which was living with your neighbours and behaving yourself.”
Haldane was placed on supervision for six months.
In 2019, Haldane was placed on supervision for punching her GP in the face at a Perth surgery.
She was unable to offer any explanation for the assault, which left the doctor with facial injuries.
