A Fife paedophile is back behind bars for breaching a court order designed to protect the public from him, three months after being released early from prison for his latest crime.
Christopher Webb, 30, was jailed for three years and nine months in September 2020 for having and distributing indecent child abuse images and videos.
Court papers state he was released on licence from HMP Glenochil in December last year.
But he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court via video link from Perth Prison after breaching the terms of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) on March 24, by having two mobile phone devices without obtaining the required permission.
The charge states the offence happened in Methil‘s Swan Court.
The order prohibited him from owning or possessing more than one mobile phone or computer without permission from his offender management unit officer.
Sheriff Ian Anderson jailed Webb, previously of Inverkeithing, for eight months, which he will serve in addition to the unexpired portion of his September 2020 sentence.
Following the 2020 sentence, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Banks, of the National Child Abuse Investigation Unit, described Webb as a “danger to children” and said the internet gave him the chance to indulge in his fantasies at the expense of child victims.
Webb, a former rope access technician, was also jailed for 27 months in April 2018 for inducing boys to perform sex acts on the internet.
He persuaded youngsters under the age of 16 to take off their clothes and perform sex acts in front of a webcam while he watched on his computer.
Webb also performed sex acts which he broadcast to children and made sexual comments to minors on internet chat websites.
Most of the children involved were under the age of 16 but at least one was under 13.
