A man has admitted attacking a 60-year-old woman at a farm near Kinross.
Steven Sneddon appeared at Perth Sheriff Court to admit injuring the woman at his home at Gallowhill Farm on May 26 last year.
The 41-year-old admitted repeatedly punching the woman on the head before putting her in a headlock.
Sheriff Nigel Cooke ordered reports and deferred sentence until August 17.
Paedophile caught
Fife paedophile Connor Gourlay was caught with hundreds of child abuse images and videos on two mobile phones. The 21-year-old pled guilty to the offence when he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
Footballer pleads not guilty
Former Aberdeen Funso-King Ojo will stand trial accused of assaulting a Dundee United supporter following a Scottish Premiership match.
Ojo, 30, has denied attacking Donald Dewar at Tannadice on November 20 last year.
The incident is alleged to have happened shortly after Ojo, played for Aberdeen against Dundee United at the stadium in Dundee.
He was sent off in the game and abused by a fan from the stands.
He pled not guilty by letter at Dundee’s Justice of the Peace court and a trial was fixed for November 3.
Ojo is alleged to have pushed Mr Dewar repeatedly, knocked off his glasses, and punched him on the head.
The former Belgium under-21 international midfielder recently signed for English League One side Port Vale after leaving Aberdeen at the end of the season.
Kirkcaldy drug-driver
A Kirkcaldy woman was stopped by police in her car after driving erratically through the town while high on cocaine, heroin and Etizolam. Sarah Walkingshaw, 42, admitted driving while unfit to do so through drink or drugs on May 16 last year.
Left badly injured
A man was scarred in a New Year’s Day attack in Kirkcaldy, in which he was bottled and repeatedly struck on the body with a “sharp implement.”
Kieran Hudghton and Dayle McLaren admitted acting together to assault David McLaren by repeatedly punching him and kicking him on the head and body on January 1 this year in the town’s Alford Avenue.
Hudghton, 18, also pled guilty to a second assault charge when he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court via videolink from Polmont Young Offenders Institution.
Court papers state the teenager struck his victim on the head with a bottle and repeatedly struck him on the body with a sharp implement to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
Sheriff Ian Anderson adjourned sentencing on the pair until August 16 for the production of background reports.
McLaren, 21, of Dunbeath Drive in Glenrothes, was released on bail and allowed to change a curfew restriction from 7pm-7am to 7pm-5am to allow him time to work.
Hudghton was remanded in custody.
Hammer attack
A hammer-wielding thug who left his victim severely injured has been sent to prison for 20 months. Paul Hendrie broke his victim’s arm with a claw hammer during the street robbery in Dundee.
