A Forfar thug battered his teenage girlfriend and threatened a 12-year-old with a knife.
Ryan Cooper, 21, subjected his 16-year-old former partner to a terrifying ordeal at his former home on Lordburn Place in November last year.
She begged him to stop his attack, which he carried out after they had been drinking.
The morning after his vicious assault on the girl, who cannot be named, Cooper attended his doctor seeking advice on how to “get help” for his mental health.
He also threatened a 12-year-old boy with a knife days earlier, during a row in a block of flats on the same street.
He pled guilty at Dundee Sheriff Court via video-link from prison.
Threatened 12-year-old
Depute fiscal Lora Apostolova told the court: “The accused was at the home address of his mother on November 13.
“A witness heard shouting and the accused was having an argument.
“He went into a nearby flat and grabbed a bottle.
“He attempted to hit a 17-year-old.
“A 12-year-old boy went to his address, the accused came out with a knife – it was a six-inch blade.
“He told the boy he would ‘do him in’ and ran towards him with the knife.”
Assaulted young partner
Ms Apostolova continued: “On November 16, the accused and the complainer, 16, had been consuming alcohol.
“He became angry, calling the complainer a ‘whore’ and accused her of cheating on him.
“He grabbed her by the throat.
“He told her if she told anyone he would kill her family.
“His sister heard this and recorded it.
“The complainer said ‘please, stop hurting me’.
“He told her to get on a bed and told her if she didn’t he would hit her.
“He bit her on the chin, slapped her face, dragged her across the living room.
“She kept telling him she had not done anything.”
Another witness heard the commotion and went to the property.
They looked through the letter box and saw Cooper shouting at his victim, the court was told.
The girl had bite marks on her and bruising to her cheek and arm.
Sentence deferred
Ms Apostolova added: “The accused went to his GP the following day to get help with his mental health.”
Cooper, now of New Road, Perth, remains in custody.
He admitted, on November 13 2021, attempting to hit a woman with a bottle, possessing an offensive weapon, shouting, swearing and threatening violence against a 12-year-old at an address on Lordburn Place, Forfar.
Additionally, he admitted assaulting his partner, who was then 16, threatening violence, calling her derogatory names, seizing her by the throat, biting her, slapping her and dragging her across the floor at an address on Lordburn Place on November 16 2021.
