A 48-year-old man who attacked his partner and then wrote to her from prison asking her to recant her allegations has been placed on curfew.
Robert Divers, from Blairgowrie, was originally sentenced to community work for the 2018 assault.
Divers returned to the dock on Monday and admitted breaching his community payback order, with 61 hours outstanding.
His lawyer said he was not physically able to complete the 200 hours of unpaid work due to an injury.
Sheriff Gillian Wade revoked the order and placed Divers on a nine-week curfew.
Divers had admitted attacking his partner in Main Road, Aberuthven in April 2018, while breaching a court order banning contact with the woman.
While on remand at Perth Prison, he repeatedly got in touch via text, sent her a letter, left voicemails, arranged to meet her and spent a night in her company.
He attempted to pervert the course of justice by writing to her from jail, asking her to contact his lawyer and provide a letter stating the allegations of violence she had made against him were false.

Schoolboy needed face rebuilt
A 13-year-old boy in Fife has had to have his face rebuilt with a metal plate after being attacked by a drunken teenager.
The boy – now 16 and who cannot be named for legal reasons – appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to admit the unprovoked assault.
He was 15 when he punched the youth at a bus stop in Kennoway and then ran away on September 11 last year.
He was later declared missing and when picked up by police, told them “I’ve done something really bad.”
He later added: “I got a fright when I done it. It scared me as well. I regret it and I’m sorry.”
His victim was taken to Victoria Hospital with a double jaw fracture and needed surgery to have plates and screws fitted to rebuild his face.
Afterwards, he was left with difficulty closing his teeth.
Internal scarring on his jaws and gums remain and he is recovering with the help of follow up treatment.
The 16-year-old admitted that he severely injured the schoolboy by punching him on the head at Bishops Court in Kennoway.
Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane continued his bail and deferred sentence until August 25.
Tangled with wrong football star
A thug who targeted former Scotland and Rangers star Gordon Durie in an attempted car-jacking in Fife smashed up his cell in a bid to be moved from Perth Prison. John Rodden said he had received death threats when the crimes committed against the footballing hero came to light.
Door bang death threats
A Perth man threatened to murder his partner then told police: “You better f***ing keep me in, because I’ll get her when I get out.”
Officers were called to arrest John Williamson after he hammered and booted on his girlfriend’s front door for nearly half an hour.
She called 999, fearing he was going to smash his way inside, Perth Sheriff Court heard.
Williamson, 39, of Preta Street, Huntingtower, admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at his long-term partner’s home in Athole Drive, Stanley, on July 5.
Fiscal depute Stuart Hamilton said the accused had been shouting to the complainer to give him his belongings and money for medication but she did not answer the door.
The banging continued and was noticed by neighbours, the prosecutor said.
“The accused was hitting so hard that damage was caused. The accused was kicking at the door.”
When officers arrived, Williamson shouted: “Give me my f***ing medication you mongo. I swear I’ll f***ing murder you.”
Mr Hamilton said: “He was heard saying words similar to ‘I swear I will slit your throat’.”
Williamson was initially aggressive but calmed down after being spoken to by police, the court heard.
“However, as he was being escorted to a marked police vehicle, he was heard to say: ‘You better f***ing keep me in, because I’ll get her when I get out, I swear,’” said Mr Hamilton.
Solicitor David Holmes, defending, said Williamson’s partner was against the court imposing a non-harassment order.
In a letter to the court, she wrote that the incident would not have happened “if I hadn’t been as stubborn as I am and handed John his medication.”
Sheriff Francis Gill deferred sentence for background reports until August 24, when the court will make a decision on a non-harassment order.
Woman jailed
An Arbroath woman who swung a piece of wood at police as they tried to arrest her has been jailed, after a sheriff said she did not believe a community-based order would work. Danielle Black, 29, was sentenced to almost a year in prison after admitting a number of assaults.
Sleepy taxi rider
Drunken Fifer William Williamson was caught breaching bail conditions when he got a taxi to a street from which he was banned and fell asleep in the back.
The taxi driver, who picked him up from a Leven pizza shop, had to call police to help Williamson, 35,
Police realised they had disturbed his slumber in an area of Methil forbidden area to him.
At Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, fiscal depute Catherine Stevenson explained Williamson had asked the driver to take him to Byron Street in Methil and then passed out.
Appearing from custody, Williamson admitted breaching bail conditions.
Solicitor Martin McGuire said his client was staying in a scatter flat in Mina Crescent, Kinglassie, while bail conditions were in place and asked to go to Methil by mistake.
Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane ordered reports and released him on bail before sentencing on August 25.
