A bricklayer put his partner in a state of distress and fear after drinking too much at Montrose Live music festival.
David Lamb, 30, admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner toward his girlfriend.
He accused her of cheating on him after spending the weekend at the popular Angus event earlier this year.
Depute fiscal Matthew Kerr told Forfar Sheriff Court: “On the evening of May 29, the complainer had been drinking with friends at her home address on Erskine Place.
“She left and then returned at around 10.15pm.
“She was in her bedroom about to go to bed when she heard a bang on the window.
“She heard it was the accused and told him to go away.
“Lamb was adamant she had a man in her bedroom.
“He made his way to her front door and she went to her living room.
“She could hear the accused shouting ‘f***ing let me in’.
“He continued to shout, including ‘who the f**k is there’ and ‘I’ll destroy everything’.”
Public apology
He continued: “The complainer called a friend.
“She was described as sounding hysterical.
“She asked for the police to be contacted.
“Police attended and saw the complainer in a severe manner of distress.”
Defence solicitor Nick Markowski, in mitigation for Lamb, said the couple had been in “an on-off relationship” for around two and a half years and the woman wants to continue it.
“He has asked me to apologise publicly.
“They had been at the Montrose music festival.
“Music and alcohol is a feature of the event.
“He had spent Friday and Saturday night out and said he would be in touch with her.
“He was slow in getting in touch.
“He has a limited recollection of being there.
“He had far too much to drink, he is very apologetic.”
Sheriff Alison Michie deferred sentence on Lamb, of Montrose, for six months for him to be of good behaviour.
She added: “Your partner was severely distressed at this behaviour, which is not surprising.”
