A serial domestic abuser said to have caused his victims deplorable suffering has been convicted of violence towards three women in Fife.
Stephen Lynch was found guilty of assaulting the women in the Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth areas between 2000 and 2015.
An investigation was launched by specialist police officers in 2015 after the 34-year-old from Kirkcaldy was accused by several women and identified as a serial offender.
Police Scotland welcomed his conviction at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday of a number of offences against three victims and praised the bravery of those who gave evidence against him.
Detective Inspector James Leeson, of Fife Division’s domestic abuse investigation unit, said: “The suffering that Stephen Lynch inflicted on his victims over a period of time is deplorable and his arrest came as a result of a thorough police investigation.
“However, if it wasn’t for the courage of the women who were brave enough to come forward and give evidence against him then we may not have been able to secure a conviction.
“I would like to thank each of these individuals for all of their assistance and support throughout our enquiries and the subsequent court trial.
“I hope that they can take some comfort following today’s verdict and begin to move forward with their lives.”
