A cruel boyfriend who attacked his partner while she was driving, locked her in her car and then ran her over has been jailed.
Glenrothes thug Logan Peattie admitted engaging in a seven-week course of abusive behaviour towards his girlfriend.
He was locked up and banned from the road when he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Peattie, of Docherty Gardens, admitted that he abused the woman between December 2020 and January last year at a property in Glenrothes’s Aitken Road, within a vehicle being driven at the McDonald’s at Fife Central Retail Park in Kirkcaldy.
He also admitted abusing her on three roads: the A910 between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, the A912 through Falkland, and within a different car on the A912 Glenrothes-Abernethy Road, as well as other locations.
Snatched mobile phone
According to court papers, Peattie shouted and swore at her, and repeatedly punched her on the body whilst she was driving.
The 23-year-old pulled her by the body to the ground and seized her by the clothing.
He took possession of her mobile phone and reviewed it’s contents, before threatening to harm himself.
He also threatened to kill her and on one occasion produced a Stanley blade.
The charge states he further locked the door of a car the woman was in and detained her inside against her will.
With her inside the vehicle, he proceeded to drive erratically, seized her by the hair and pulled it causing an earring to be pushed into her head.
He seized her by the neck and compressed it, thereby restricting her breathing, spat on her face, pursued her and drove at her, striking her on the body with the car.
Peattie also provided the woman with scissors and told her to harm herself.
His litany of domestically aggravated abuse all left the woman injured, the court heard.
Sheriff Alastair Brown jailed Peattie for a year and nine months.
Peattie was also disqualified from driving for two-and-a-half years.
