A Fife woman smashed a love rival’s window with a bottle of Dragon Soop and was later caught drink driving.
Claire Aitchison went to the woman’s Blairhall home and lobbed a bottle of the alcoholic energy drink through her living room window.
The 26-year-old appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted a charge of vandalism.
She also pleaded guilty to a second offence of being more than twice the legal drink drive limit (47mics/22).
Both incidents took place on March 29 this year, the court heard.
‘Ongoing hate’ with victim
Procurator fiscal depute Lee-Anne Hannan told said Aitchison and the other woman have “ongoing hate” due to her having a “romantic fling” with Aitchison’s boyfriend.
The fiscal depute said: “For whatever reason, Miss Aitchison drove to (the woman’s) home address.
“On arriving she began to shout. She threw a bottle of Dragon Soop at the front living room window, causing it to smash.
“She got back into the car and fled the scene.”
Police were contacted and waited for Aitchison to return home. Officers turned on their blue lights when they saw her driving past.
The fiscal depute continued: “She pulled into a parking area and attempted to walk away.”
Aitchison told police: “I ken I’m getting lifted, I smashed her window… I had a drink. F**k it, I’m honest.”
She was arrested after failing a roadside breath test.
‘Out of character’
Defence lawyer Ian Beatson said the complainer previously had an affair with Aitchison’s now partner.
He said they are still together and there “seems to be bad blood.”
Mr Beatson said his client had gone to speak with the woman, who refused, and she then threw the bottle.
The solicitor said: “It’s very much out of character, and there’s been no previous convictions.”
Sheriff Paul Reid banned Aitchison from driving for 14 months and fined her a total of £550 in relation to both offences.
