An ex-airman threw cutlery and a broom head at the window in a frightening outburst in his street.
Iain Brock ripped a gas meter door off, banged on a door and walls and smashed a glass bottle during the disturbance in Skibo Avenue, Glenrothes.
The 43-year-old appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and admitted a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive behaviour.
Court papers state the incident happened on April 30 at another property in his street.
His defence lawyer told the court that Brock was a serving member of the RAF until 2008 and that he’s still on the reserve list.
The solicitor said he suffers from PTSD.
Sheriff Alison McKay adjourned sentence until September 26 for the production of background reports.
Supervision for sex offender
A Fife paedophile caught with hundreds of child abuse images and videos on two mobile phones must complete unpaid work.
Conor Gourlay, 21, previously pled guilty to the offence when he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
He returned to court on Tuesday to be sentenced by Sheriff Ian Anderson.
The sheriff ordered him to complete 160 hours of unpaid work in a year and to complete the Moving Forward: Making Changes programme to rehabilitate sex offenders.
Gourlay, of Tolbooth Wynd in Anstruther, will be supervised for three years – maximum period available to sheriffs – and will be on the sex offenders register for as long.
The court previously heard the offence happened between December 2020 and April 2021 at Castle Terrace, Kennoway.
At a previous hearing, Fiscal depute Claire Bremner told the court police carried out a search of Gourlay’s address in May last year and two mobile phones were seized – one from him and one from his bedroom.
A full forensic examination revealed the phones contained more than 650 indecent photos or videos of children.
The court heard there were more than 130 videos and more than 120 images of the most graphic kind, category A.
Defence lawyer Kerr Sneddon said he would reserve his plea in mitigation on behalf of his client for this date.
Post van hit-and-run
A hit-and-run postal worker who mowed down a colleague as he cycled through rural Perthshire has been ordered to pay his victim £3,000 compensation.
Peter Burt crushed fellow postie Mike Haggart’s bicycle and left him “for dead” on a country road near Perth.
Burt, 53, drove his post van for a further 15 miles before reporting the accident to police.
The 56-year-old cyclist was severely injured in the crash and had to wear a back brace for three months.
Burt appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitted driving without due care and attention on October 15, 2021.
He also pleaded guilty to driving off without reporting the accident.
Sheriff Gillian Wade ordered him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay compensation to Mr Haggart at a rate of £150 per month.
The sheriff further imposed six penalty points, meaning Burt can keep his driving licence.
He was told the sentence was a direct alternative to custody.
Fife attacker jailed
A thug who punched a man to the ground in Glenrothes and then stamped on his head is behind bars.
HMP Perth inmate John Naylor appeared by video link at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday to admit the Hallowe’en assault on Kenneth Stobal.
Naylor, 34, admitted that he punched Mr Stobal to the ground on Warout Road on October 31 last year.
The punch caused Mr Stobal to fall to the ground and whilst he was floored, Naylor repeatedly punched and kicked him on the head and stamped on his head.
The grisly attack left Mr Stobal “severely” injured, impaired and permanently disfigured.
Sheriff Alison McKay deferred sentencing until September 6.
