A twisted teenager targeted Dundee schoolgirls to brag about raping a child and to encourage them to join him in abusing youngsters.
Sick Logan Summers sent explicit child abuse images to the random youngsters after identifying them as living in the same city as he did.
Summers, 19, has been locked up after he admitted telling one girl to carry out a sex act on a child she had been photographed with.
He spent several months using the social media app SnapChat – where he used the moniker “DundeeShock” – to target innocent victims.
Summers, of the city’s Balerno Place, admitted sending messages and images relating to the abuse of children to a female teenager on February 10, 2019.
Babysitter
Fiscal depute Gavin Burton told Dundee Sheriff Court: “The complainer uploaded a video of her nephew to SnapChat. She got a message from a user she did not know.”
The user urged her to commit a sex act on the youngster. He then sent her a picture of a young female child performing a sex act on an adult male.
Summers admitted that on Valentine’s Day 2019 he sent explicit child abuse images to another girl and told her that she should sexually abuse a child.
Mr Burton said Summers messaged: “Wanna see child porn? I’m gonna get you pregnant and rape the baby.”
Summers sent the girl an image of a child being abused and bragged that it was “just like” the time he raped a child he was babysitting for.
Also in February 2019, he admitted sending a picture of an adult female with a naked male child to a 15-year-old girl who had never met him before. The complainer did not report the image but screenshotted it and put it on Facebook, where it was discovered.
He admitted that on February 28, 2019 he messaged another 15-year-old girl and boasted about a previous occasion when he had raped a child “while babysitting”.
Mr Burton said: “She attended school and discussed the matter with friends who encouraged her to make a teacher aware as a matter of urgency.
She spoke with a teacher and police were contacted.”
Hidden phone
Summers also admitted trying to groom a 12-year-old girl on 9 June 2019 by sending her a picture of a naked penis.
“The girl was 12 when she uploaded a message asking for a dare for her and her friend to carry out,” Mr Burton told the court.
In response, Summers sent explicit pictures and asked the girl and her friend to carry out a sex act. She thought the message was from someone she knew from school.
However, the court heard that the girls were not known directly to the former Harris Academy pupil, but he had worked out they lived in and around Dundee from their social media profiles.
He admitted a further charge of distributing child porn and of having an illicit mobile phone when he had been released on bail with a special condition not to.
“At some point in the search the accused moved a large plant pot with a large cactus in it and placed it on a window ledge,” said Mr Burton.
“After the search was finished a buzzing sound emanated from the direction of the plant pot,” the fiscal depute added.
“The pot was thoroughly searched and the accused began to get nervous and agitated and the officers observed the edge of a mobile phone outside on the window ledge.”
Sheriff Paul Brown deferred sentence for the preparation of background reports and to consider the terms of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order. Summers was remanded in custody.
