A spitting thug called a police officer a racial slur during a bigoted outburst in Dundee.
Shannon McGregor shouted “Malteser” as she was being arrested for an alleged break-in.
The 25-year-old described another officer as a “beastly p**f”.
She appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and making abusive remarks at Court Street North and Dundee police HQ on May 1, last year.
McGregor, of Ancrum Court, also admitted assaulting two police officers by spitting on them.
Prosecutors accepted her not guilty plea to an allegation of breaking into a property with intent to steal.
Handcuffed and spit hood applied
The court heard police went to a flat in Court Street North following reports of an incident.
McGregor and another person was found at the property.
They both became hostile towards officers.
PC Andrew Nicoll told the accused she was under arrest in connection with alleged housebreaking.
McGregor was handcuffed and taken to a waiting police car.
When she was placed in the backseat, she “deliberately” spat in the direction of PC Nicoll and officer Ruaraidh MacDonald.
The court heard they were able to move out of the way, just in time.
She continued to spit while locked in the car, Sheriff Robert More was told.
Spit hood used
Because of her ongoing behaviour, officers requested a van to take her to Dundee police headquarters.
A spit hood was placed over her head as she was walked into the other vehicle.
At the police station, she continued to shout, swear and spit into her hood.
She called one officer a “beast” and a “beastly p**f”, despite being warned that her outburst was being recorded on camera.
MacGregor then shouted “Malteser” at another officer, which prosecutors said was a racist remark.
As she was put in a cell, she ranted: “Can’t charge me. Innocent until proven guilty.”
Sheriff More deferred sentence until October 11.
