A jury has returned a not proven verdict in the case case against a man accused of assaulting a three-week-old baby.
Stephen Graham, 27, was alleged to have squeezed the tot’s torso, shaken him and thrown him onto a hard surface to his severe injury and danger of his life.
Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard the baby’s skull was fractured and it suffered bleeding on the brain and eight fractured ribs.
The attack was alleged to have occurred at an address in Fife between April 20 and 28 2014.
The prosecution had said an attack on the baby had been motivated by frustration at the child’s crying.
A jury returned the not proven verdict on Wednesday afternoon.
