A 36-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death of a 39-year-old man in the Dunnock Park area of Perth.
Officers along with the Scottish Ambulance Service were alerted to an incident in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man, who police have now named as Douglas “Dougie” Anderson, was pronounced dead a short time later.
The woman, described as being local, is expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.
Mr Anderson’s family is too upset to comment at this stage and has requested that their privacy is respected.
Detective Inspector Gary Winter, who has led the investigation, said: “I would like to thank the local community for their patience while extensive inquiries have been carried out in the area, and for all information provided to police.”
