A drink-driver was found to be almost three times the limit after mounting a kerb in Montrose.
Grzegorz Piechota had travelled to the Angus town following an argument with his girlfriend.
Worried onlookers called the police after he mounted the pavement and was seen staggering across the road to a nearby house.
Piechota, 28, of Park Road, Brechin, admitted driving with excess alcohol (63mics/ 22) at North Esk Road on October 12 2019.
His solicitor told Forfar Sheriff Court Piechota had had additional alcohol once arriving at his friend’s house.
He added he had remained out of trouble since the offence was committed.
He was banned from the roads for a year and fined £300.

At Forfar Sheriff Court the 33-year-old of Priory Crescent was jailed for two months for taking 14 bottles of whisky from Asda in Forfar on September 5.

Trial arrested
A trial against a Blairgowrie man accused of being at a property with intent to steal has been adjourned, after a key witness was arrested.
John McCulloch, of Emma Street, denies being in the curtilage of Blairgowrie House Cottage without lawful authority on June 4 2020.
Prosecutors claim it would be reasonably inferred that he was there to commit theft.
But the 48-year-old’s trial was postponed following a brief hearing before Sheriff Francis Gill.
Fiscal depute David Currie told the sheriff: “Without saying too much, a Crown witness attended court this morning but was arrested in connection with a separate matter.”
A new trial was set for February 27.

Police unearthed hundreds of illicit files on biomedical student Connor Sword’s home computer. Social workers said the original punishment was not working and he was fined.
