A man has appeared in court accused of targeting a 96-year-old woman in a “bogus caller” theft.
John Reid faced one charge of theft and four of being found in a building where it may be inferred he intended to commit theft during a hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Reid was arrested after a 96-year-old woman was targeted by what police described as a “bogus caller” on Sunday.
The 33-year-old, of Dundee, made no plea or declaration during a brief private hearing on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael continued the case for further examination and remanded Reid in custody meantime.
He is expected to appear in court again next week.
