A Dundee drug dealer hid thousands of pounds worth of illicit substances in ice cream and butter tubs at his Lochee home.
Police found wraps of cannabis stuffed in Rizza containers and Lurpak boxes at Steven Stark’s Adamson Court flat during a raid in December 2020.
A phone with pictures of his haul – as well as invitations to visit his flat to buy the drug – was found alongside tick lists and cash piles.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, Stark, 37, admitted being concerned in supply of the class B drug.
Drugs and cash in tubs and jars
Depute fiscal Lynn Mannion told the court: “At 8.40am on December 15 2020 police officers attended at Adamson Court to execute the search warrant.
“The accused was traced in a bedroom of the property at the time.
“Cash amounts of £821.14 and £226.96 were recovered from a jar, which contained seven wraps of cannabis and was found in the living room.
“The average weight of each was 0.93g with a potential illicit value of £70.
“A tick list was found, alongside £250 cash in the kitchen.
“Three glass jars with 60.2g, 70.2g and 67.72g of cannabis – with an illicit value of £1140 to £1950 – were also found in the kitchen.
“A plastic container with 15.38g – £125 to £150 – and a clear plastic container weighing 2.48g were recovered.
“A Lurpak container with 4.86g – £50 – and a Rizza ice cream tub with 64.08g – £380 to £640 – were found, as was another Rizza ice cream tub with 85.23g of cannabis (with a maximum illicit value of £850).
“A blue plastic bag with 146.03g with a potential street value of £870 to £1460 was recovered.”
Incriminating phone
Ms Mannion said: “Police recovered a Samsung smart phone which was examined by the cybercrime unit on September 30 2022.
“It was found to contain messages sent from the accused in relation to the concern of supply of cannabis between November 26 2020 and December 15 2020, including messages relating to the arrangement for customers to attend at his house to secure cannabis.
“There were also photographs of the drug (on the device).”
The court heard Stark has a limited record, with one summary conviction in 2005, for police assault, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and vandalism.
Sentence was deferred until January 24 for reports, by Sheriff Alistair Carmichael.
