A drunk Kirkcaldy man threatened to put “bullet holes” in police called to a pub to get him to leave.

Michael Reekie, 22, also threatened to “slash” the officers as he bounced on his toes with clenched fists outside the Cottars in Rosyth’s Primrose Lane.

Reekie, of Shetland Place, pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence on May 1 last year.

Sheriff Wyllie Robertson sentenced him to carry out 70 hours of unpaid work.

Procurator fiscal depute Catherine Stevenson told Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court police were contacted by staff at the pub around 8:45pm “in relation to the accused being drunk and failing to leave”.

She said officers then saw him outside the pub with his girlfriend and stopped their car.

The fiscal depute said: “The accused immediately sprung upright and clenched both fists and began bouncing on his toes shouting ‘I will f***ing slash all the police, f***ing leave me alone or or I will put bullet holes in you'”.

Ms Stevenson said Reekie then lifted his top to show his waistband, becoming more agitated and calling officers “d***heads” before being arrested.

Defence lawyer Calum Harris said Reekie described being in a toxic relationship at the time which involved alcohol and drugs, the main reason for this incident taking place.

The lawyer said: “He had taken far too much to drink and it does appear this is a spur of the moment incident and followed on from having an argument with his then-partner”.

The solicitor said his client has since reduced his level of alcohol consumption and eradicated drug taking.

Partner called police

A Fife man who drove into Perthshire after a drunken row with his partner has been banned from the road.

Scott Thomson’s girlfriend reported him when he stormed from their Leven home in the early hours of July 7.

The 47-year-old was more than three times the legal limit when he was traced by police at about 3am in Station Road, Forgandenny.

Thomson appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitting a charge of driving with excess alcohol (69 mics/ 22).

Fiscal depute Andrew Harding said: “His partner contacted police.

“She said she was concerned that he had been drinking vodka before he went out.”

Solicitor David Holmes said: “This was a time of domestic turbulence, which has now been resolved.”

He said his client lost his job following his arrest.

Sheriff William Wood told Thomson: “You must appreciate the level of danger you placed yourself and others in by getting into your car on this day.”

Thomson, of Law View, Leven, was fined £1600 and disqualified for 21 months.

Done by decoy

Angus pervert Mark Falzon was cornered by paedophile hunters at Arbroath bus station after he arrived to meet what he thought was a schoolgirl from Glasgow. He had spent months communicating with a decoy Facebook account before being confronted in his hometown.

Warrant issued
