Image: Google. A man has appeared in court accused of assaulting an 80-year-old woman and robbing her of her handbag in a Perthshire town. Bryce McCardle was arrested following the alleged incident in Blairgowrie’s George Street on Tuesday afternoon. The 36-year-old appeared from custody at Perth Sheriff Court. He faces an allegation of assault and robbery. McCardle, who is from Blairgowrie, is further charged with credit/debit card fraud and possession of a controlled drug. He is expected to make a second appearance on petition in the new year. Police Scotland said officers responded to reports of an alleged handbag theft in the George Street area at around 4pm.
