A Fife teenager banned from visiting his mum kicked off at police who found him hiding under slats of a bed in her house.
Kieran Little, 20, was on bail with a condition to stay away from his mother when he was discovered in her home.
He appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to admit a string of offences including breaking court orders and police assault.
Assaulted three police
The court was told officers were called to the property in Craigmount, Kirkcaldy, shortly after 3am on October 26 in 2021 after receiving a call about a disturbance.
Downstairs, they found Little’s mother and a friend, who were described as incoherent.
While speaking with them, officers heard shouting from upstairs.
A constable called on Little to make himself known.
Little replied: “If that’s the police, you better get ready to fight.”
They found him under the slats of a bed.
One constable moved to handcuff him but Little began struggling and pushed backwards.
The officer fell over and Little punched one of his colleagues in the face.
A third officer tried to handcuff the struggling teenager but he managed to injure the constable with the set of cuffs, leaving him with a cut thumb.
He was eventually apprehended and taken to Kirkcaldy police station, acting abusively on the way.
Sentence deferred
Little admitted he breached a bail order imposed on March 12 2021, which had special conditions not to approach his mother or enter her home.
He also admitted assaulting the three police officers, spitting on one of them and injuring one and acting abusively while being taken to Kirkcaldy police station by shouting, swearing and repeatedly threatening police with violence.
Sheriff Alison McKay deferred sentencing for the preparation of a social work report and restriction of liberty order assessment.
Little, of Lauder Road, had his bail continued and is due back in court on February 6.
