A Fife bus depot boss bombarded a cancer survivor with sleazy Facebook messages and told her he was glad her breasts hadn’t been “chopped off”.
James Dunlop has been placed on the sex offenders register after firing off a series of increasingly disturbing messages to the woman.
In one text, he said he was watching porn while thinking of her.
In another he said he wanted to “faceplant” into her body.
Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard that the 53-year-old has since lost his job as manager at Glenrothes bus station.
Messages took seedier turn
Fiscal depute Catherine Stevenson said Dunlop’s comments began after the woman showed off a new tattoo,
She said: “Around the end of September 2022, the complainer got a tattoo on her back while she was on holiday. She posted this to her Facebook profile.
“After she returned, she showed off her tattoo to (people she knew). The accused walked past, observed the tattoo and told her it looked ‘braw’.
“A few days later, the complainer received a Facebook request from the accused and on September 30 she began receiving messages from the accused via Facebook messenger.”
The messages were initially innocent but soon took a seedier turn.
Ms Stevenson continued: “On October 15, the complainer began receiving further messages from the accused’s account.
“At this time the accused told the complainer he was thinking of her back tattoo, stating that it turned him on.”
The fiscal depute told the court: “The messages made the complainer feel uncomfortable and so she replied to the accused, trying to distract the situation.
“Later in the evening, the accused messaged the complainer and stated he wanted to ‘faceplant’ her and that he was watching porn and thinking of her.
“These messages alarmed the complainer and made her feel uncomfortable. However the accused deleted the messages.”
She said: “He further said he would be a ‘silent worshiper’ of the complainer.
“He continued to message the complainer despite her not writing back.”
Referred to her past illness
Ms Stevenson told the court: “The complainer previously suffered breast cancer, from which she has now recovered.
“The accused further messaged her stating he liked women’s breasts and he was glad the complainer never got hers chopped off.”
Ms Stevenson said the woman was uncomfortable by this apparent reference to her previous illness.
Dunlop, of Brodie Court, admitted communicating indecently with the woman at an address in Fife on October 15 last year.
A not guilty plea to a charge of sending a sexual image of a woman’s naked breasts to the same victim was accepted by the Crown.
Sentence was deferred until next month for reports and Dunlop was placed on the sex offenders register in the interim.
