A drunken driver who rolled a minibus after losing control as he tried to overtake at speed has been banned from the road for 12 months.
Byron Phipson was found to be more than twice the legal alcohol limit when he was found by the wreckage of the nine-seater Vauxhall Vivaro.
Phipson, 35, from Methil, Fife, kicked off at ambulance staff after they arrived to treat him for injuries he sustained in the crash.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, Phipson was placed under social work supervision for 12 months and ordered to undertake alcohol counselling.
Bus overturned
The court was told that Phipson caused the minibus to overturn after losing control at high speed on a country road.
Phipson admitted driving dangerously on the Craigrothie to Ceres road on August 23, last year.
He admitted driving at excessive speed, tailgating another vehicle before overtaking it at speed, and driving on to a verge before overturning.
He also admitted drink driving, with a reading of 49/22 mics, and acting in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing in an ambulance on the road.
