Shaun Patterson, 47, was admonished at Dundee Sheriff Court after previously admitting being concerned in the supply of street Valium to a friend on the city’s Chapel Street on December 2 2021.
Patterson, of Brown Street, had 100 of Class C Etizolam tablets, valued at £50.
Sentence had earlier been deferred for reports to be prepared.
His solicitor Theo Findlay said at that time his client’s issues had been “in the main mostly substance misuse driven.”
Flat fire siege
A Fife sex offender who breached strict court orders by having Snapchat on his phone torched his scatter flat and threatened to turn on the gas when police tried to arrest him. James Haggerty, 23, was jailed for 18 months after admitting his role in a three-hour siege in Kennoway six weeks ago.
More filth found
A convicted paedophile who was spared prison following his first offence has admitted having even more depraved child sex abuse images.
Connor Sangster, 27, had a haul of pictures and videos on an iPhone and SD cards kept at his family home in Arbroath, since 2013.
He appeared again at Dundee Sheriff Court, where he admitted further charges.
Depute fiscal Christine Allan said the latest devices seized contained videos of boys and girls between the ages of three and 12.
“The iPhone had 406 accessible images, including more than 150 in category A, the worst type.
There was more than 34 hours of video.
Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown deferred sentence for reports until May 10.
Sangster is already on the Sex Offender Register and under supervision after last year admitting having more than 700 hours of sickening abuse films and stills.
During an early-morning raid on the Ella Cargill Place house he immediately confessed to police: “I won’t waste your time.
“You will find what you are looking for. It’s on my phone, laptop and SD card.”
Prison ‘inevitable’
Graham Smith, 59, has been told prison is “inevitable” after he hit a Black Watch veteran from Fife with his van as he changed a tyre at the side of the A90 in Aberdeenshire. Award-winning care home chef John Grover, 62, died at the scene after sustaining multiple injuries. Smith admitted causing death by dangerous driving and will be sentenced later.
Police assaults
Samantha Stirling, 34, of Dunfermline, pled guilty to four assaults on police at the Woodside Hotel in Cowdenbeath.
She was part of a group moved to the temporary accommodation and when she found her room door would not lock, she went downstairs to complain but ended up drinking in the bar, Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard.
Officers attended at around 11.15pm for a completely unrelated matter but intoxicated Stirling became “unruly” and was arrested.
She kicked a female constable between the legs and spat at another.
Leg restraints and a spit hood were applied.
She was taken from Cowdenbeath to Dunfermline police station where she spat at another officer, missing again, before lashing out again.
Solicitor Christopher Large said his client had been “distressed” by the accommodation change and did not feel safe.
Sheriff Robert More called for background reports and deferred sentencing.
