A Dunfermline man threatened staff with violence and told them he had a knife as they tried to eject him from a Kirkcaldy pub.
Shyam Sookur admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner at Montague’s on the town’s High Street on December 9 last year.
The 37-year-old shouted, swore and struggled with bouncers before making the threats.
He then took a road barrier and ran into the window with it.
Sookur, of James Street, Dunfermline, will be sentenced next month.
Motorhome fraudster
The director of a Fife motorhome company has admitted defrauding customers of nearly £350,000. Christine Galloway, 68, admitted the theft while sole director of St Andrews Motorhomes Ltd. Galloway, who now lives in Rhyl, Wales, liquidated her company in the summer of 2018 after around 30 years in business.
Cash grab
Prosecutors seeking £195,000 from ex-MP Natalie McGarry will try to get cash from her former councillor husband’s bank account.
McGarry, 41, from Inverkeithing, was sentenced to two years – reduced on appeal – at Glasgow Sheriff Court in June 2022.
She was found guilty of taking £19,974 while treasurer of Women for Independence and £4,661 while treasurer, secretary and convener of the Glasgow Regional Association of the SNP.
McGarry had been the MP for Glasgow East between 2015 and 2017.
A proceeds of crime hearing in which prosecutors are looking to recover money embezzled took place at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Barry Divers asked Allan MacLeod, defending, for McGarry’s benefit amount from the embezzlement.
The advocate replied: “It keeps going up – we are dealing with £195,241.31.”
A statement of information on McGarry’s finances suggests the amount she can pay back is around £1,600.
Sheriff Divers asked: “This is from the bank account of David Meikle, is that her partner?”
Mr MacLeod replied: “Yes.”
The advocate stated there are 65 pages of items to be vouched for, spanning from 2011 to 2022.
“The financial consultant said this is the first time he has come across the Crown looking at finances from the date of the end of the charges to the current day.
“This creates complications for the defence as her bank account was closed in 2016.”
The hearing was continued until later this month for more information to be made available.
