A Dundee carer hit a random pub-goer in the head with a glass she had launched at her former boyfriend.
Tracey Currie, 35, had aimed a pint of lager in the direction of her then-partner after punching him on the head in the city’s Nether Inn last year.
It missed its intended target and struck another punter on the head, cutting him and leaving a scar.
Currie, of Helmsdale Drive, pled guilty to two charges at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Launched glass across pub
Depute fiscal Lynne Mannion told the court: “She and the complainer had been in a relationship.
“They had been for a meal together in Dundee earlier.
“At around 9.40pm they reunited in the Nether Inn pub, Nethergate.
“They began to argue.
“She shouted and swore at the complainer.
“She then punched him to the face.
“She threw a beer glass.
“It hit another patron, who was left with a small scar on his face.”
Currie admitted assault and acting culpably and recklessly by throwing a glass, causing it to strike David Macpherson on his head to his permanent disfigurement on March 24 2022.
The court heard no injuries were caused to Currie’s partner in the initial assault.
A not guilty plea to a further charge of drink-driving later that evening was accepted by the Crown.
Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown adjourned the case until June 7, to allow for criminal and social work reports to be compiled and a restriction of liberty order assessment to be carried out.
Currie was granted bail in the meantime.
Beat previous partner
In 2020, Currie pled guilty to assaulting another partner of 10 years after he boasted about his infidelity.
As well as throwing him to the floor and bursting his nose, she smashed a television, tipped over a fridge and shattered a glass oven door in a 30-minute wrecking spree.
