Two suspects are accused of drugging, raping and murdering a man in Fife.
Dylan Brister, 26, and Cameron Allan, 19, are said to have killed the alleged victim over a two day period in early November 2021 at a property in Leven.
Prosecutors claim the pair supplied him with alcoholic drinks that had been spiked with Etizolam – known as street Valium – and medication used for anxiety without his knowledge.
It is said the man – who cannot be identified for legal reasons – ended up “unconscious and intoxicated”.
This charge then claims he was raped, which is said to have been recorded on a mobile phone.
Murder charge
The separate murder accusation states Brister and Allan left the man unconscious on a sofa while failing to seek medical help.
It is said, as a result, he died due to “ingesting” Etizolam and alcohol.
The pair then face a further charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
This includes claims they tried to delete videos from a mobile phone of the “rape and sexual assault” of the man.
They are both accused of being concerned in the supply of Etizolam.
Brister alone is charged with assaulting two women amid claims he caused both to ingest drugs without their consent in 2018.
He is further accused of attacking two police officers while Allan is said to have behaved in a threatening manner to a 61 year-old woman.
The case called against both at a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Not guilty pleas were entered by defence lawyers.
Lady Drummond fixed a trial due to start in June next year.
