Local celebrity weather forecaster Robert Iain Wilson is to go on trial accused of assaulting a 12-year-old boy outside Auchterarder High School.
Wilson, known to his legion of fans as “Windy”, is said to have seized hold of him by the clothing, pulled him toward him and then pushed him on the body during an altercation.
Wilson, 50, of Glenorchil Crescent in Auchterarder — also a youth football coach — denies carrying out the assault, which is alleged to have taken place on December 8 last year.
His case was to have been heard at Perth Sheriff Court this week, but was delayed due to lack of court time.
Trial has now been set for August 22, when Wilson will return to court and witnesses are due to give evidence
He has engaged the services of Advocate Neil Beardmore QC to prepare his defence.
