A Dundee shop keeper has been accused of showering a then-underage girl with gifts before sexually assaulting her in a car.
Rana Aslam had his case continued without plea at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday morning and faces a single charge of committing various historic sexual offences between 1998 and 2000.
Aslam is accused of inducing a women – who was at the time under the age of consent and cannot be named for legal reasons – into motor vehicles before carrying out numerous sex acts on her at various locations across Dundee, Angus, Perth and Fife.
He is accused of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices by giving the underage child gifts including money, perfume, shoes, alcohol and a mobile phone between August 20 1998 and August 20 2000, contrary to section 6 of the Criminal Law (consolidation) Act 1995.
The 50-year-old will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court in August.
