A man has appeared in private at court charged with a Perthshire car-jacking.
Charles Lindsay, 18, of The Holdings, Logie Drive, Logiealmond, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday before Sheriff Lindsay Foulis accused of stealing a car at knifepoint from its owner while his car was at rest in a lay-by.
He faced a charge that on October 13 at a lay-by before the turn-off for Ardler on the A926 road between Blairgowrie and Alyth, while acting with another person whose identity is unknown, he assaulted a man by seizing hold of his body and presenting a knife at his face.
The charge states he ordered him out of the car and drove it away, thus robbing the man of his car and its contents.
The car involved in the alleged crime was a silver Seat Ibiza.
Lindsay made no plea or declaration and was allowed bail with a curfew condition imposed that he remain within his home between 9.30pm and 7am each day.
Police initially described the incident as “car-jacking.”
