A man has appeared in court accused of carrying out a series of thefts across Dundee during a three-week crime spree, including stealing four hot tubs and a collection of Beatles memorabilia.

Andrew Pattie is charged with 19 separate offences, including thefts from vehicles, homes, garden sheds and summerhouses between November 2 and November 22.

Items taken during the break-ins included bikes, tools, gardening equipment and four hot tubs in the St Mary’s, Menzieshill and Downfield areas of the city, according to court papers.

The 25-year-old, of Strathtay Road, Perth, appeared in private before Sheriff Ian Anderson at Dundee on a petition alleging that between November 2 and November 13, at locations in St Mary’s Road, St Kilda Road and Teviotdale Avenue, he entered or broke into four vehicles and stole tools, power tools and an electric saw, while on bail.

He is further accused of breaking into 12 garden sheds or summerhouses in Dunavon Gardens, Adam Drive, Harestane Place, Clattowoods Place, St Ninian Terrace, Strathmartine Road, Hoylake Place, Tweed Crescent, Glenesk Avenue, Cox Gardens and Blantyre Place, between November 5 and November 22.

The petition also alleges that he stole items including bicycles, a cycle computer, various tools, a garden strimmer, deckchairs, money, and a Bluetooth speaker.

Among other items he is accused of stealing include rare first edition Beatles memorabilia.

Pattie appeared from custody and made no plea. The case was continued.
