A man who assaulted an A&E nurse and a police officer will be sentenced next month.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard Darren Forbes, 35, admitted assaulting Mark Bellaney, a nurse at Ninewells Hospital, in June this year.
Forbes, of Kinghorne Road, Dundee, also admitted acting in a threatening and abusive manner at the hospital’s accident and emergency unit on January 19 this year by repeatedly shouting and swearing at medical staff.
The same day, Forbes assaulted PC Gary Bain at Dundee police headquarters by headbutting him.
Forbes had been due to go on trial for the January offences on February 14 but did not appear.
At the latest hearing, he also admitted another offence, committed on July 10 on Constitution Street when he acted in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing, acting aggressively and attempting to hit himself with a brick.
Sheriff Way said he would defer sentence for a further month for Forbes to be of good behaviour, and to allow for another sheriff who had originally heard his case to impose sentence.
He said: “I have read these papers and I feel Sheriff Martin-Brown will need to see these.
“What I am going to do is defer sentence for one month for him to continue to be of good behaviour in that time.”
Forbes was bailed and will return to court on January 29.
